Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and the Haddon W. Robinson Center for Preaching are honored to introduce alumnus Dr. David Ryoo (ThM ’01) as this summer’s Burnett H. and Dorothy F. Sams Visiting Professorship in Preaching. Founded in 2002, the professorship strengthens the seminary’s dedication to equipping Christian leaders to preach both biblically and with contemporary relevance. Dr. Ryoo, who also serves as a co-mentor for Gordon-Conwell’s Doctor of Ministry program, will teach a weeklong Evangelistic Preaching hybrid course to masters-level students from the Hamilton campus starting on June 24, 2025.

Dr. Ryoo served for nearly a decade at Chongshin Theological Seminary in Seoul, South Korea, holding dual appointments as both dean of the library and information and the professor of homiletics. During his tenure, he received the Best Lecturer of the Year award for seven consecutive years.  Since 2013, he has served as senior pastor at Korean Central Presbyterian Church, Virginia, USA.

Dr. Ryoo is passionate about the careful exposition of God’s Word and the power of the gospel to transform lives. His course will instruct students in the art of planning, preparing, and preaching evangelistic sermons.

Summer applications close on April 30, and registration closes on May 16. Space is limited, so register today to save your seat and learn from scholar-practitioner, Dr. Ryoo.
