Dr. Glenn Butner Authors Christological Dogmatics
Dr. Glenn Butner, associate professor of theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, has released a new book, Christological Dogmatics, in which he offers a systematic and globally informed exploration of the person and work of Christ. Building on his award-winning Trinitarian Dogmatics, this volume intertwines historical theology, biblical studies, and global Christian voices to present Christology as central to Christian doctrine and discipleship.
Anchored in the authority of Scripture and salvation by grace alone, Christological Dogmatics is a substantial yet accessible resource that engages voices from across the Christian tradition. Dr. Butner synthesizes patristic, medieval, Reformation, and Majority World perspectives into a cohesive and accessible survey designed for the church, making this book a valuable resource for pastors, professors, students, and theologians seeking a deeper understanding of Christology and its implications for the life of the Church.
To mark the release of the book, Gordon-Conwell’s Division of Christian Thought will host a theological conversation on Tuesday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m. on the Hamilton campus. Dr. Butner will be joined by Dr. Adonis Vidu to discuss substitutionary atonement and the enduring significance of the cross for Christian doctrine, worship, and discipleship. The community is invited to attend.
