Two dozen scroll fragments have been discovered in a cave in Nahal Hever.  This marks the first such finds in 60 years.  The fragments contain Greek translations of portions from Zechariah and Nahum, with only God’s name appearing in paleo-Hebrew. Along with this exciting discovery was found what is believed to be the world’s oldest complete basket, the mummified skeleton of a child, and coins from the time of the Bar Kochba Revolt.  For the full story, see The Times of Israel, The Jerusalem Post, andThe New York Times.

The purpose of the Cooley Center is to explore the historical foundations of the Christian faith. This is accomplished by several means, one of which is providing resources that explore archaeology in the Middle East during biblical times.
