As part of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary’s Pivot, which entails selling significant portions or all of the Hamilton campus and relocating main operations to Metro Boston, a Transition Committee was appointed to discern next steps. The Transition Committee recently concluded an exhaustive review of available properties according to select criteria and recommended to the Board of Trustees that President Sunquist begin “substantive discussions” with a particular property owner in the heart of the city. The Board voted in approval of the next phase of this multiphase process.

“We’re very excited about the prospect of engaging with this particular organization,” said Gordon-Conwell President Scott W. Sunquist, “as it not only shares our vision for a strong evangelical presence in Boston, but it shares much of our ethos and history.” Due to the sensitive nature of the discussions, more information is not available at this time, but the seminary is confident that a mutually beneficial arrangement can be reached over the ensuing months. “This is a very complex and time-sensitive project,” noted Dr. Sunquist, “but we have seen evidence of God’s providence throughout.”
