Gordon-Conwell’s Partnership with
Alliance Theological Seminary
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS) have had a shared vision of theological education that impacts global discipleship. During this time of transition, we are here to support ATS students with the smooth continuation of studies and academic services.
We are offering a streamlined application process with no application fee. We will accept all ATS credits for students who meet Gordon-Conwell’s academic requirements and are in good financial standing at ATS. ATS students can apply to the programs below. Stay tuned for updated information on other degree programs.
Apply by August 11 for Fall 2023, and join our community in-person, online, or hybrid! Students interested in transferring to complete their studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary must apply, be accepted, and matriculate by Fall 2024.
Application Requirements
STEP 1: APPLY ONLINE
The Fall ’23 deadline is August 11.
- Have one pastoral reference ready
- Under the “Reference” page of the application, enter the reference’s name and email address
- Gordon-Conwell will contact your reference by email after your application is submitted
- Under “Misc. Information” write the following: Alliance Teach-Out Student
- At “Submit Application” paywall page use waiver code: ALLIANCE
STEP 2: SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION
- You will receive email confirmation that your application has been submitted. Once your application has been processed by a member of the Admissions team, you will receive an additional email with a link to your Applicant Portal.
STEP 3: LOG IN TO APPLICANT PORTAL
- Upload 250-word personal statement
- Request all official transcripts
- Alliance uses Parchment
- We need all previous academic transcripts from other higher education institutions attended in addition to Alliance
You will be able to track what Gordon-Conwell has received for your application by viewing the checklist on your Applicant Portal. Once all materials have been received, your application will be submitted for review.
STEP 4: REVIEW BOARD
- Examines your application form, reference, transcript(s), and personal statement
STEP 5: RECEIVE ADMISSIONS DECISION. IF ACCEPTED, CONFIRM AND REGISTER FOR FALL 2023 COURSES!

GPA NOTE:
Students must fulfill Gordon-Conwell’s GPA requirements. The Review Board will consider others on a case-by-case basis.
• Gordon-Conwell MATS requires a 3.0 GPA, while Alliance requires a 2.5. Gordon-Conwell will evaluate students in the 2.5-3.0 range and consider undergraduate GPA, personal statement, other Alliance coursework, and reference.
• MDiv, MACM, MAGL require at 2.5 GPA at Gordon-Conwell. Some exceptions may apply.
