Our office strives to keep the listings below as up to date as possible. All postings have a trained and approved mentor in place. Please note that while these postings reflect the desire of certain ministries and churches to have a seminarian work with them, ministry opportunities for GCTS students are not limited to this list.

POSITION: We are looking for a confident and teachable self-starter to serve as an intern with our NextGen (Children’s, Middle, or High School) Ministry during the academic year. The intern will work alongside the Directors/Pastors of Children’s or Student Ministry, in ministry to children, students, their families, and the wider congregation of faith parents who are investing themselves as small group leaders. He/she will assist in programming, training and retreats, teaching, contact work, building relationships with parents and leaders, and hospital visitation as necessary. The intern will serve the main Lexington campus.
HOURS: 10-12 hours per week; Sunday mornings and weekdays/evenings as available/needed.
FINANCIAL: Minimum wage for hours worked.
TIME FRAME: Academic year (NOTE: Full-time 10-week summer internships also available).
TRAVEL TIME [from GCTS]: 30 minute drive.
OTHER: Grace Chapel NextGen Ministries are passionate about helping children and students understand how much God cares for them! When a person is known and cared for, they have the freedom to be their true selves. Each week in Kidstown, our children experience the love and warmth of their church family, experiencing great fun and learning about the love of Jesus. In our Middle and High School student ministries, students gather from all over the region, finding a real sense of belonging that comes from real community.

POSITION: We hope to be blessed by a GCTS student and also to be a blessing. We are looking for a student who loves the Lord and loves children to serve in our children’s ministry. Pastor Steven has been serving children’s ministry for 30 years, and hopes to share his experience with a younger, eager minister. Our church uses Awana, has a yearly VBS, a Fall Harvest program, retreats, etc. We do our best to provide regular training and encouragement to both children’s ministry coworkers and parents.
HOURS: 10 (possibly more)
FINANCIAL: At least $300/month, up to $1,000 based on need
TIME FRAME: Flexible
TRAVEL TIME: 30-40 minutes
OTHER: We are a diverse congregation of 1,200, serving overseas born and American born Chinese and Taiwanese. Multiple cultures and languages are present within our congregation. We have approximately 200 children (nursery to 5th grade). Ministry is in English to children, but Mandarin speaking is a plus.

POSITION: We have an opportunity for a fun, energetic Children’s Sunday School intern who can teach and disciple children grades K-5. We are seeking someone who loves Jesus and has a passion for the faith development of children.
HOURS: 10 hours

OTHER: Our church seeks to enter and contribute to the ongoing work of God for the salvation, redemption and transformation of our community and the world beyond. We offer a great opportunity to experience a multiethnic congregation and various ministry opportunities, such as: Vocational Bible Study, team ministry with the senior and youth pastors, and growing preaching and leadership skills.

Children’s Ministry

POSITION: Church in the Cove is looking for a Director of the Children’s Ministry to lead our efforts to minister to children in our church and in the broader community. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching and/ or ministering to children, as well as experience managing volunteers. This role required a person who loves children and relates well with adult volunteers of all ages, parents, and people of different backgrounds. The Director will work under the direct supervision of the Pastor and in collaboration with the Director of Youth Ministry. Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, overseeing the program for infants through fourth grade, consult with Youth Minister and Pastor, recruit, train and supervise volunteers, and create, document, and implement procedures and protocols to establish and maintain a safe environment.
HOURS: 10 hours per week
FINANCIAL: $20-25/hour.
TIME FRAME: September- April
TRAVEL TIME: Approximately 15 min away from GCTS.
OTHER: We are a growing congregation of 80 members with a nice generational spread including an active group of senior citizens, some mid-life couples, and singles and plenty of young families. We have a very robust group of elementary- age and middle school children. There is opportunity here to be involved in Sunday morning worship, Men’s, or Women’s ministry groups, participate in worship leadership and offer Christian education events. Church in the Cove is a member of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC).
