Tasks that the mentee might participate in are, but not limited to, preaching once or twice a semester, visiting homebound folks, sitting in on Leadership team meetings, possibly help with children’s/ youth ministry (if desired), and leading a small discipleship cohort. Their work will leave fingerprints on us for years to come. We are looking for a student who is interested in or open to a small church ministry, preferably in New England. Our church is undergoing a surprising revitalization recently, so we may be especially well-suited for a student who is interested in revitalization. The student should be open to a variety of experiences, since in all small organizations (and especially in small churches) pastors wear a variety of hats.

TIME FRAME: Start date is flexible, Fall, Spring, or Summer is available.
TRAVEL TIME: 50 minutes from GCTS.
OTHER: Middle Street Baptist Church is a 200-year-old church that in many ways, feels like a new church plant. We are a family-oriented church, multi-generational (ages 1-103), with a building situated five minutes (walking) from a vibrant downtown Portsmouth, NH. We have experienced surprising growth since the COVID-19 pandemic. Our children’s ministry is thriving, we just re-started a middle school youth group, and our members are engaging in and starting various discipleship groups.
