Our office strives to keep the listings below as up to date as possible. All postings have a trained and approved mentor in place. Please note that while these postings reflect the desire of certain ministries and churches to have a seminarian work with them, ministry opportunities for GCTS students are not limited to this list.


Christ Church

POSITION: Christ Church PCA is seeking a man to promote their examination of calling to pastoral ministry and church planting in New England. The intern will be asked to participate in worship, outreach, and discipleship ministries. The intern will have opportunity to lead Bible studies, preach at Christ Church and our daughter church plant. The internship will be flexible and adaptive to skills and interests of the intern. Christ Church is seeking someone to explore their calling in New England. We are looking for a student committed to a Christ-centered ministry with an interest in pastoral ministry and openness to church planting. The intern should be willing to work within a Reformed and Presbyterian context but is not required to share those commitments.
HOURS: 30-40 hours per week
FINANCIAL: Dependent upon intern availability and agreed upon duties, but will be approximately $20/hr.
TIME FRAME: Summer

OTHER: Christ Church PCA was planted 25 years ago and, though small, has been used by God to support the planting of multiple churches. The intern will be given a variety of ministry opportunities according to their interests and abilities.

DENOMINATION: American Baptist
POSITION: We are looking for true disciples of Jesus Christ who desire to fulfill his/her mission in a small, Bible-preaching/teaching evangelical church setting. Opportunities include preaching, teaching, outreach, music, worship and administration. A heart for local church ministry would be essential to making the most of this opportunity.
HOURS: Minimum 10 hours per week; hours to be determined.
FINANCIAL: Negotiable.
TIME FRAME: September-December; could begin earlier.
TRAVEL TIME [from GCTS]: 1.3 hour drive.
OTHER: A sense of calling for New England church ministry would be ideal, but not required. Expository preaching and teaching is an important characteristic of this church, and we are constantly reminded that being made disciples and making disciples is what it is all about. We strive to show love and support of one another, and to live a life of worship of our God and Savior, empowered by His Spirit!

Danville Baptist Church

POSITION: We are looking for a male student with a passion for the gospel, God’s people and the lost to serve as a pastoral apprentice. He will work with the pastor to help oversee various aspects of church ministry. Potential opportunities include involvement leading Sunday worship services, preaching occasionally, teaching a Bible study or Sunday school, organizing ministries, training ministry leaders, visitation, etc.
HOURS: 10 hours per week; flexible.

TIME FRAME: Open until filled.
TRAVEL TIME [from GCTS]: 60 minute drive.
OTHER: Danville Baptist Church is a 200 year old church, just north of the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border. As a small church with about 90 regular worshippers, we think this would be an excellent opportunity for students to learn and grow by doing real-world ministry.

First Baptist Church of Waterford  

Youth Ministry

POSITION: Our church is growing and we are in need of a youth leader who can help us cultivate and grow our youth ministry (Jr. and Sr. High). We are praying to find someone spiritually, emotionally, and biblically mature. A prayerful Christian who is gifted in leadership, and encourager, and practitioner of the Spiritual Disciplines. Someone who is a willing teacher and speaker, as well as passionate for discipling youth and their relationship with God. We are seeking someone who has a heart for the local church and community and is willing and able to humbly work with the lead pastor and others in a team setting.
HOURS: 10 hrs/week
FINANCIAL: $20 an hour.
TIME FRAME: Start date is flexible, Fall, Spring, or Summer is available.
TRAVEL TIME: Estimated 2 hours and 20 minutes from GCTS.
OTHER:  First Baptist Church of Waterford owns a full gym (kitchen, basketball court, and climbing wall and are several Jr. High and Sr. High schools within a 5-10 mile radius. We have a desire to reach the youth within our community and pray for someone to join us.

Middle Street Baptist Church

POSITION: Our church has grown significantly in the past year, meaning a mentee would have a real opportunity to engage and contribute to the life of our church family. Tasks that the mentee might participate in are, but not limited to, preaching once or twice a semester, visiting homebound folks, sitting in on Leadership team meetings, possibly help with children’s/ youth ministry (if desired), and leading a small discipleship cohort. Their work will leave fingerprints on us for years to come. We are looking for a student who is interested in or open to a small church ministry, preferably in New England. Our church is undergoing a surprising revitalization recently, so we may be especially well-suited for a student who is interested in revitalization. The student should be open to a variety of experiences, since in all small organizations (and especially in small churches) pastors wear a variety of hats.

OTHER: Middle Street Baptist Church is a 200-year-old church that in many ways, feels like a new church plant. We are a family-oriented church, multi-generational (ages 1-103), with a building situated five minutes (walking) from a vibrant downtown Portsmouth, NH. We have experienced surprising growth since the COVID-19 pandemic. Our children’s ministry is thriving, we just re-started a middle school youth group, and our members are engaging in and starting various discipleship groups.
