Biography: Dr. Tom Herrick is a church planter and an ordained priest in the Anglican Church in North America. He planted churches in Houston, TX and Centreville, VA and has served as a catalyst for church multiplication at the regional and national levels for over thirty years. His ministry has focused on recruiting, training, and coaching church planters as well as training and coaching leaders of church multiplication.

Throughout his ministry, Dr. Herrick has provided leadership in numerous capacities to those developing systems to stimulate church multiplication for their networks and denominations. He devoted nine years to the Church Planting Commission of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, serving as chairman for six of those years. He served for three years as National Director for Church Planting with the Anglican Communion Network. This led to him founding the Titus Institute for Church Planting, a non-profit organization he led as executive director for twelve years.

Through the Titus Institute, Dr. Herrick was a frequent conference speaker and served on several leadership teams as a mission strategist, trainer, and coach, including Fresh Expressions US (Baptist General Association of Virginia), Evangelize Today (Presbyterian Church in America), Always Forward (Anglican Church in North America), and the Great Commission Committee (Anglican Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic). He also served as the first Canon (aka “director”) for Church Planting for the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic, where he designed and implemented the church multiplication systems that have fueled its church planting ministries.

Dr. Herrick has taught church planting and multiplication for several seminaries, beginning as an adjunct professor at Gordon-Conwell’s Hamilton Campus in 2008. Beyond teaching at the master’s level for seven years, he also designed the Doctor of Ministry: Church Planting & Multiplication track at Gordon-Conwell, which he has taught since 2013. He is passionate about raising up the next generation of church planters and continues to serve part-time as a clergy coach and consultant.

Tom’s personal interests include fitness, sports, remodeling, reading, traveling, and frequent visits to the theatre and the beach. He shares life with his wife and soul mate, Carol, their two children and two grandchildren and live in Milton, Delaware.
