Biography:
Dr. Timothy Beougher (pronounced boo–ker) has led the Doctor of Ministry Outreach and Discipleship track since 2007. In addition, he has served as the Billy Graham professor of evangelism and associate dean of the Billy Graham School at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY). Before that, he served as assistant professor of evangelism at Wheaton College Graduate School and associate director of the Institute of Evangelism at the Billy Graham Center of Wheaton College.
He earned a degree in agricultural engineering from Kansas State University, an MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a ThM in Evangelism and a PhD in Historical Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago.
Dr. Beougher is the author of numerous materials on evangelism, discipleship, and spiritual awakening, including Invitation to Evangelism: Sharing the Gospel with Conviction and Compassion; Overcoming Walls to Witnessing; Training Leaders to Make Disciples; Evangelism for a Changing World; Richard Baxter and Conversion; and Accounts of a Campus Revival: Wheaton College 1995. For several years he was a featured contributor to Nelson’s Annual Preacher’s Sourcebook.
He has served as an evangelist, church planter, pastor, and interim pastor of several congregations. In addition to his seminary responsibilities, he currently serves as pastor of the West Broadway Baptist Church in Louisville.
Dr. Beougher is married to Sharon and they are the proud parents of five children and the extra proud grandparents of twelve grandchildren. The Beougher family also includes a Golden Retriever named Crockett and an English Cocker Spaniel named Cromwell. Dr. Beougher’s hobbies include travel, gardening, hunting, fishing, and golf.
