Dr. Horvath has served at Gordon-Conwell as Administrative Director of Mentored Ministry since 1998 and Director of Career Services since 2003. Prior to coming to GCTS to earn the MACO (1999) and Doctor of Ministry (2012) she served in the college and high school ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), led a Christian Education program for the Greater St. Paul (MN) Association of Evangelicals, and served as a missionary in West Africa (Senegal) and for some years in Russia with the Navigators just after the fall of Communism.
A native New Englander (“born in Maine, raised in NH, and grown up in VT”) Katherine’s undergraduate degree is in Human Development from the University of Vermont. Her MA in Counseling focus was Marriage and Family Therapy and her doctoral thesis was titled “Living Into Biblical Community Through Healthy Conflict Resolution.” This has led to her offering the course Conflict Management in Life & The Church. Katherine is committed to discipleship and to the local church, having continued in a variety of leadership positions over the years. Currently Dr. Horvath enjoys serving as volunteer chaplain in a local women’s prison, teaching the Bible and coordinating ministry volunteers. Katherine enjoys humor, travel, hiking, dance and nature.
