Biography:
Dr. Jackie E. Perry is a seasoned clinical mental health counselor and supervisor, a professor of counseling at Columbia International University and the founder/president of The SoulWell Center, an Asheville-based non-profit organization focused on equipping individuals and organizations to become better listeners and to engage stories more effectively. She created The Attuned Listener Course, which is used by The SoulWell Center to effectively enhance listening skills and the ability to hold a safe space for others.
Jackie is passionate about ministering to families through seminars and continuing education workshops in churches, schools, and community organizations. She integrates her experience as a counselor with biopsychosocial findings with biblical principles to engage, encourage, and equip her audiences. In 2019, Dr. Perry released her first book, The Heart Cry of Every Teen to equip parents and caring adults to understand and address the eight heart core desires that drive and direct much of the best and worst behaviors we see unfolding during the adolescent years of development.
She lives in Asheville, North Carolina, and is married to her college sweetheart, John. Togethe,r they have three adult children and one adorable granddaughter. They both love the outdoors and consider kayaking or hiking with a view of the North Carolina Mountains to be a perfect day.
